It may be pointless to open the comment threads back up. It appears nothing is happening with the Michelle Young case right now. I was on the verge of abandoning this blog last November, so my interest in the Young case is virtually the only thing keeping the doors open.
It's not that I'm no longer interested in, or keeping up with, the other cases I've written about in the past; I'd just lost interest in continuing to blog about them. Some of them -- Natalee Holloway, Trenton Duckett, George Smith, IV, John Fiocco, Jr. -- may never be solved. I don't like it, but I've come to accept it. Others -- Tracy Tribble, Michelle Gardner-Quinn, Nona Dirksmeyer, Tiffany Souers, Imette St. Guillen -- appear to be proceeding toward satisfactory conclusions. I don't feel compelled to press on about them.
It's the uncertainty of an arrest and prosecution, the mystery of what investigators know but aren't revealing, that holds my interest in the murder of Michelle Young. And it's the apparent stagnancy of the investigation that frustrates me to no end. The forums devoted to discussion of the case at various message boards have all but died, progressing from a Groundhog Day-like continual loop of hash and rehash to a virtual standstill. Sparse information publicized by early media coverage and scant search warrants and leaked by people close to the family has been dissected and analyzed past the point of monotony to the brink of exasperation. I can only hope that the investigation being conducted by the Wake County Sheriff's Department and District Attorney Colon Willoughby's office has not gone as cold as the daily discussions at the crime forums. It's too dang quiet.
So like I said, it may be pointless to open the doors here, but I'm doing it anyway. Something's gotta give. Often, all it takes is one little change, one minute vibration of activity, to get the ball rolling. This is my insignificant contribution.

Oh, I thought it was just me that felt that way about the message boards. There are some die-hard contributors that I enjoy reading, but at this point it's almost futile discussing the little that we truly know.
It's still nice to see you back!
Michelle's killer will reap his justice in the end. If not here...then somewhere else for all eternity.
At least you are keeping it alive. Don't stop blogging! You have great stuff here.
I'm glad you decided to keep this going. I love your blog. I have learned so much here and at times I've found myself reading right through lunch and/or neglecting the duties of that thing called "my job". :-) In any event, I pray there is some bit of news soon in the Michelle Young case. Something, anything to give us an idea that her killer is on his way to the big house.
Thanks for your efforts here AJ. I certainly appreciate them.
Thanks for the encouragement, Taxi, Tia, and Anonymous. I enjoyed being footloose and fancy-free for a couple of weeks, but I don't like the idea of abandoning the blog in the middle of the Young investigation. I'm determined to see it thru to an arrest, if not a conviction. I hope there's something real to write about soon. Actually, I've been reviewing certain aspects of something discussed on the message boards. I may try to put together a new entry on it soon.
I really enjoy reading your blog~ very detail oriented and informative. I can imagine how much trouble it is to keep up with one, but hope you won't stop doing it. Kudos to you for doing such a great job, as well as being a great writer!
Hi Scout, oops AJ... I,too have slacked off reading/posting at CTTV boards. Not solely because of the lack of new news, mainly due to several posters, that try as I might, just could not stomach...
Regardless, the reason for all this is the sad, violent end of a young mother, and successful business womans life at the hands of a maniac. Hopefully, the answer will be shown as to who this madman is and then justice for Michelle will truly be had. Keep up the great writing, I, as I see plenty of others really do enjoy reading you and hearing your ideas. Thanks for what you do...
